I’m sure that you may be wondering what Fur Therapy is.
It’s Simple, it’s for anyone that misses having a dog or cat and the benefits. It’s having Cuddles at home with a Friendly Furry Friend but not having the responsability of owning one themselves.
We offer 1 – 3 hour time slots when we can bring one of our Dogs and you can have the benefits of cuddles and love. While you are experiencing your cuddles if you would like some home help we can do this for you. Would you like some Fur Therapy?
Studies have also found that:
- Pet owners over age 65 make 30 percent fewer visits to their doctors than those without pets.
- Playing with a dog or cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax.
- Pet owners have lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels (indicators of heart disease) than those without pets.
- Heart attack patients with dogs survive longer than those without.
One of the reasons for these therapeutic effects is that dogs (and cats) fulfill the basic human need to touch. Even hardened criminals in prison have shown long-term changes in their behavior after interacting with dogs, many of them experiencing mutual affection for the first time. Stroking, hugging, or otherwise touching a loving animal can rapidly calm and soothe us when we’re stressed or anxious. The companionship of a pet can also ease loneliness, and most dogs are a great stimulus for healthy exercise, which can substantially boost mood and ease depression.
